Dr. Gomillion-Williams has been named a Professional of the Year for 2011-2012

BEAVERTON, MI, October 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bridgette Gomillion-Williams, Ph.D., a Technical Research Specialist at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering. In addition to being named a Professional of the Year, she has received the Elite American distinction.

Dr. Gomillion-Williams has 21 years of experience in her field, and has spent the last two years in her current position at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation, a material science and engineering company that provides performance materials such as glass, engineering polymers and composites. Dr. Gomillion-Williams' areas of expertise include polymer material science and engineering of organic and inorganic polymers, development of thermoplastic reactive polymer processes, development of extruded open cell polypropylene foams for personal hygiene applications, development of weather resistant barriers, working with soft polymer foams/sponge, and manufacturing parts for medical devices. She also conducts on-site research into production problems, and supports research and development teams.

Dr. Gomillion-Williams earned a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the School of Material Science and Engineering at Clemson University. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Polymer Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Gomillion-Williams is a member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, American Fiber Society, American Chemical Society and Society of Plastics Engineers.
