CLEVELAND, OH, October 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paul McGuirk, Ph.D., VP and Head of Medicinal Chemistry for Aeromics, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in biotechnology.

Dr. McGuirk has 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. He was previously Executive Director at Pfizer, Inc. and for the past three years has been Vice President and Head of Medicinal Chemistry for Aeromics, LLC. There, he is responsible for researching and developing new medicines for the treatment of traumatic brain injury, stroke and congestive heart failure. His expertise includes drug discovery and development — knowledge he draws on to speak to a variety of issues pertaining to the successful development of novel pharmaceuticals. Armed with a passion for medicinal chemistry, Dr. McGuirk is especially proud to have a talent for assembling efficient teams aimed at bringing new medicines to market.

Dr. McGuirk earned a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry and biochemistry from Cornell University. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Project Management Institute. As he moves forward in his position at Aeromics, he plans to bring new medicines of high medical need to "proof of concept" stage to facilitate company expansion.
