Dade Medical College Purchases Southern Career College
Jacksonville-based institution accredited to award Masters level degrees

MIAMI, FL, December 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Friday, December 2, Dade Medical College completed the purchase of Southern Career College, a Jacksonville-based, private higher learning institution. This strategic acquisition will commence Dade Medical College's plan to go statewide with their educational brand through expansion and acquisition. Southern Career College will continue to operate as a stand-alone organization.

Southern Career College is located at 9550 Regency Square Blvd on the 11th and 12th floors, near the Regency Square Mall. The facility features ample free parking and many restaurants and shops within a short distance to the campus, making this an ideal location.

This marks Dade Medical College's first acquisition and will also serve to expand the college's educational offerings under the Southern Career College brand. Southern Career College's current programs of study include: Business, Computer Drafting & Design, Consumer Information, Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Technician, Network Administration, Nursing Assistant and Phlebotomy.

As the transition progresses, Dade Medical College projects to add an additional 60 jobs to the already preexisting staff. Terms of the transaction were not immediately disclosed.
