William J. Mostyn III Recognized for Excellence in Securities and Antitrust Law

MARSHFIELD, MA, August 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William Mostyn III, Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of TIAA-CREF, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in securities and antitrust law.

Mr. Mostyn has 35 years of legal experience which have allowed him to build an expansive skill set in corporate governance and securities and antitrust law. In his current capacity as senior vice president and corporate secretary of TIAA-CREF, he oversees all the legal affairs of the company and directs legal staff operations, business planning and budget development initiatives. He also works with the chairman to put together agendas and manages the outside counsel.

Prior to joining TIAFF-CREF, a company that provides financial services for the academic, research, cultural and nonprofit fields, Mr. Mostyn fulfilled a number of roles throughout his career. These included deputy general counsel and corporate secretary at Bank of America and The Gillette Company, respectively. Mr. Mostyn also served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1972. The leadership experience he gained in these various capacities, along with his educational background, helped him to advance into his current role.

Mr. Mostyn received a JD from the Northeastern University School of Law. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Bar Association and NACD. He is also a member, and former national chairman, of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. Looking ahead, he intends to experience continued professional growth within TIAA-CREF.
